DAY 01 ARRIVE CHENNAI
Welcome to
South India. After clearing immigration and custom formalities, our representative from Ariel Holiday Travels will assist you to your hotel.

DAY 02 CHENNAI (Breakfast)
Today you will be going on a tour Chennai which takes you to Fort St. George and St. Mary's Church, the oldest Anglican Church east of
Suez; St. Thomas Cathedral, the Mylapore Temple, and the Marina, the second longest beach in the world.. Not far from Chennai lies  Mahabalipuram, "city of seven pagodas"(out of which five have immersed into the ocean)  and not to forget Kanchipuram, famous for its silk sarees.

DAY 03 CHENNAI / TRICHY (Breakfast)
Drive to Trichy (300 kms - 6 hours), the usually popular name for Tiruchirappalli, located on the banks of the serene
Kaveri River is one of the major rivers in India. It is also spelled Cauvery in English. This historic Chola city is a place where modernity and antiquity shakes hands. Rock Fort, the temple with a tunnel, the hundred-pillared hall, and several beautiful rock-cut temples stand as sentinels over the Cauvery.

DAY 04 TRICHY (Breakfast)
Enjoy a full day excursion to Tanjore, traditionally known as Thanjavur -
Thanjavur, anglicised name Tanjore, Thanjavur is one of the chief political, literary and religious centres of southern India, known for its contribution to Carnatic music, it has produced many classical musicians and Bharathanatyam dancers. Visit Brahadeeswara Temple at Tanjore (Thanjavur), dedicated to Lord Shiva, also called the Big Temple, belongs to the architecture of the Chola period.  The temple is considered an engineering skill of the Chola architects who planned its construction in such a way that the shadow of the cupola never falls on the ground.

DAY 05 TRICHY / MADURAI (Breakfast)
Drive to
Madurai (130 kms - 4 hours). It is one of the oldest cities in India with a history dating all the way back to the sangam period of the pre Christian era. Madurai was the capital city of the pandya kings of South India.

DAY 06 MADURAI / PERIYAR (Breakfast)
Drive to Periyar (135 kms - 4.5 hours),
Periyar is one of the 27 tiger reserves in India, home to a large population of elephants. Over 260 species of birds are found here.

Besides tigers and elephants, the sanctuary is a natural habitat to wide variety of wildlife including bison, sambar, wild boar, spotted deer, leopards, jungle cats, rare species of Malabar flying squirrel, stripe necked mongoose, black Nilgiri langurs and monkeys etc.

DAY 07 PERIYAR / KUMARAKOM (Breakfast)
Enjoy a morning boat ride on the lake to view wildlife and water birds. Thereafter drive to Kumarakom.(180 kms - 4 hours).
Kumarakom is a cluster of little islands on the Vembanad Lake in Kerala.

DAY 08 KUMARAKOM (Breakfast)
A day at leisure and time to relax. Identify rare species of birds, enjoy a boat ride along the back waters, or simply rejuvenate your body by opting for an Ayurvedic body massage.

DAY 09 KUMARAKOM / COCHIN (Breakfast)
Washed by the silvery waves of the Arabian Sea, Alappuzha, the Venice of the East welcomes you to the backwaters of Kerala. The Palm fringed canals and shores bustling with glimpses from the day to day life in the country side, the mirror still lagoons, picture book lakesides and its long sandy beach has blessed Alappuzha, the water locked district, to become one of the best Backwater tourism destinations in God's Own Country.

Then drive to Cochin, often called the "Queen of the Arabian Sea".  Visit the Dutch Palace, the ancient Jewish Synagogue (except Saturdays), St. Francis church, the Mattancherry Church (closed on Fridays) and see the Chinese fishing nets swaying in the breeze over the back waters. In the evening enjoy a spectacular Kathakali dance performance.

DAY 10 COCHIN / BANGALORE (Breakfast)
Fly to
Bangalore, once known as "City of Gardens", now India's Silicon Valley with corresponding increase in wealth and population. However, there is plenty of tradition and culture to explore: Art galleries and don’t forget to visit the famous Lal Bagh Botanical Gardens.

DAY 11 BANGALORE / MYSORE (Breakfast)
A luxury train ride brings you to Mysore popularly known as the "
Sandalwood City".

DAY 12 MYSORE (Breakfast)
The main attraction in
Mysore is the famous Maharaja's palace one of the most magnificent palaces in India with huge gateways, domes, arches and sculptures. Also visit the temple at Chamundi hill, named after the royal family's goddess.

 On route stands a 16-foot statue of Nandi Bull, carved out of a single huge boulder! In the evening, take an excursion to Brindavan Gardens. A beautifully laid garden on the banks of the Krishnasagar Dam, alive with bright flowers and silvery fountains.

DAY 13 MYSORE / DEPART CHENNAI (Breakfast)
Enjoy a luxury train ride to Chennai where you will be assisted to the international airport for your onward flight.
