India decided to join the 18 countries to implement the ambitious project. Trans-Asian Railway (TAD) will lead to better communication, commerce and tourism between the three parts of the world

The Council of Ministers of India declared that the state will help build a 11 460 km of rail track. The idea of creating a TAD appeared in 1969, but due to economic and political instability in the countries on whose territory would pass line, but a bold plan was delayed for more than three decades.

TAD project was initiated by the UN Commission on Economic and Social Affairs in the Asian and Pacific region and the anticipated construction of the transcontinental railway, the so-called Iron Silk Road – from Singapore to Istanbul in Turkey that is about 14 000 km.

India’s Cabinet approved the signing and ratification of an intergovernmental agreement on the TAD, which is officially aimed at the development of communications among Asian capitals and industrial cities. India will build the interval between the Indian city of Jiribam and Moreh town in Myanmar.
